DID ANYONE IN THE BIBLE EVER TELL SOMEONE THAT THEY LOVED THEM???……a little food for thought,…….it’s not what we “tell” someone,…it is what we “show” them,…..as well as “how” we show them,…………what are your thoughts???

So if this is the apparent case, how should we say that we love God? Why do we feel that our loving God is done for the week with a few praise songs on Sunday morning? I know that this is just a straw man argument but for the dialogue’s sake… I know that I tell God every morning how much I love him, as I am sure a lot of people do, and I am sure that God enjoys our telling him, but is that the extent of it? I hope not. We don’t even know our hearts for real like God does. He knows our deceitful hearts like we never will. He sees when we say we love him and then turn around and reject his spirit, and deny his name in front of our peers by our actions of neglect and hatred. It should not be the case, but it is our fallen nature, and He knows it.
We are human though and we cannot generate within us the kind of Love that God gives us freely. That sacrificial love must be generated within us by the Holy Spirit as one of the fruit of which he promises. “We love because he first loved us.” Let us not love in word or tongue but in deed and truth. Thus real love is giving… “for God so love the world, that he gave his only begotten Son…”
He might not have “said” “I love you” in so many words in the Bible, but his actions from creation to the end of time shows us how much he loves us. Humanity says, do unto others as you would have them do unto you, Jesus says says ‘love one another AS I HAVE LOVED YOU”. Humanity says to love your friends; He says, love your enemies. Jesus says “for as much as you have done it unto the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me.” Loving others costs. Saying I love you is cheap. Let’s not get caught up in that feel good emotion and really love Christ. As He loved us.

SO, in answer to my question,… WAS THAT A YES OR NO?,……….nyuk nyuk

I was so touched by your question, It compels me to search. I see his love shouted out to us in every story of the Bible. Genesis ch 1 God doesn’t need the earth, sky, gravity, light and darkness for sleep, food and water. But he knew that you and I do. He made them because he wants us to know that he loves us and cares for our every need. Every story of God interacting with man shows us how much he cares and loves us. Particularly where he is making a way for us, his wayward children, to come back to him for salvation. Even in the story of God driving Adam out of the Garden of Eden to die was not just punishment. In his love for mankind, God sent him out to keep him away from eating of the tree of life. Because if Adam ate from that as a fallen creature, he would have been separated from God for eternity. God was saying I love you enough to let you die so that we can be reunited again one day. Talk about tough love.
I know, TMI. If we don’t know he loves us, we will flounder in doubt when hard times comes.

Absolutely! Actions speak louder than words.
